Just finishing up my latest project "Songs of the Colorado" which we are going to show here locally at the tribal community center. Also received R & D funding from NAPT to get my next doc "Chasing Voices," about J.P. Harrington and the Native American language revitalization movement off the ground. Still have a couple of funding requests from CCH and ITVS still pending, so my wish is to get the rest of the funding. I to feel blessed to belong to this Workshop online community. Good luck with the funding, Judith!
Glad to hear Harrington is getting traction, such a good project! I'll keep fingers crossed. And if any of you are making connections with CPB (Angie Palmer, Joseph Tovares, others) and wanted to put in a good word for Workshop 2011, it couldn't hurt! best, Judith
This has certainly been a busy year! I've been putting my animation and music backgrounds to use in the digital publishing space. My company, See Here Studios, releaseed two iPad children's books this past year, and we worked on infrastructure to allow us to ramp up production in 2011. More details at the links below:

Happy Holidays to all,

Having fun working on my new documentary THE ANIMATED ADVENTURES OF JUDO GIRL, the story of Teshya Alo, a 13-year old judo and wrestling phenomenon from Hawai‘i. The film mixes footage of real life Teshya with sequences of her as "Judo Girl," an animated character representing Teshya's inner thoughts and emotions. We completed a fundraising trailer for the film this fall, which can be viewed on our page or at YouTube. And we just secured fiscal sponsorship for the film through Women Make Movies.
In October, we followed Teshya and her sister to their first international competition, the Pan American Judo Championships, in Panama City, Panama. Both girls swept their divisions, taking home gold . Teshya and the film project were even featured in a TeamUSA.org article, the official website of the United States Olympic Committee. Hoping to continue filming for the project (and perhaps launching another one too) in 2011! Happy holidays to all!
It was a pleasure to work with fellow Workshopper Yoni Brook as directors of THE CALLING, which premiered last week on Independent Lens! And for my stories I was also able to work with the husband of another Workshopper from my year 2005, Laura Murray -- Misho Stawnychy recorded much of the sound on my stories for the series. A screening version of THE CALLING is playing in Community Cinemas around the country, and the whole four-hour series can be ordered on DVD or iTunes and check out the outreach campaign at whatsyourcalling.org.
Thanks to Judith for her encouragement and for all the inspiration from fellow Workshoppers! Clips available on my website www.veracityproductions.com and details and photos on my page on this site. Happy New Year!!
