Congrats to everybody on these amazing achievements!  I feel honored to be a part of such a fantastic group.

I'm happy to report that after years of looking for funding, my film "A FRAGILE TRUST: Ethics, Race, and Jayson Blair at the New York Times" was selected for funding and a co-production deal through ITVS's Open Call process.  I found out in December but have been waiting to announce anything until I had the contract signed, sealed, & delivered - which finally happened yesterday.

Also, I'm thrilled to have been selected as a 2011 BAVC MediaMaker Fellow where I will be working on a robust Transmedia educational companion project for the film.  BAVC is such an incredible resource for this kind of work and I encourage everyone to check out their Producer's Institute for New Media which will be happening in June.

That's all for now.

More congrats!!  Are you and Sally in touch re BAVC?  Also I think Chelo Alvarez Stehl ('10)?

Onwards indeed!  And upwards!  Judith

Kristy Guevara Flanagan's THE HISTORY OF THE UNIVERSE AS TOLD BY WONDER WOMAN was one of 29 feature docs from 9 countries to receive support from the Sundance Institute!  Congrats, and keep those bracelets shiny!!

FIVE Workshopper films were nominated for a total of 6 Emmys this year:

Outstanding Continuing Coverage of a News Story – Long Form
"A Village Called Versaille," S. Leo Chiang ('08)
"War Don Don," Rebecca Richman Cohen ('09) and Francisco Bello ('06)

Outstanding Historical Programming – Long Form
"The Longoria Affair," John Valadez ('03) and Pamela Aguilar ('06) (and moi!)

New Approaches to News & Doc Programmaing – Documentaries
"Deep Down," Sally Rubin ('09)

Outstanding Editing
"War Don Don,"  Francisco Bello ('06)

Outstanding Graphic Design and Art DIrection
"The Eyes of Me," Keith Maitland ('08)

Did I miss anyone?  You guys just ROCK!!!

Thanks Judith! Excited to share the big day in September with Leo & you!

Would love to meet the other nominees -- maybe a drink or 3 before the ceremony on the 26th?

Heaps of congratulations!  I'm continually impressed and inspired by the incredible workshoppers and the projects created. I've urged many people to get their applications in for the 2011 academy.
I love this idea!
