Can anyone recommend a good music supervisor? Would love to find someone who has knowledge/interest in Detroit's musical history, but not necessary.
This is for my film on Detroit philosopher/activist Grace Lee Boggs
Barbara Allen's in Chicago - is that too far away musically?
Chris Metzler just finished a film on Fishbone (punk/rock/ska, Los Angeles), wonder if they/he crossed into Detroit territory in the band's 25 years?
Contact Steve Audette and ask if he has suggestions?
Wow, that was fast. Thanks, Judith!
One-touch -- see it, respond, file, keep going! So if a note hits my computer at the right time, I am quick! Of course this doesn't stop me from having billions and billions of messages in my in-boxes, but it gives me the illusion I'm on top of them. Ha! Not sure if any of them can help, but fingers crossed.
Jessica Hopper does a lot of music supervising for This American Life and others - she's based in Chicago but knows a ton. Could be a good resource. Also the NYC company Agoraphone - http://www.agoraphone.com - has a great style. They do tons of commercials, but I think they also do film...
I would recommend Brook Wentz and the Rights Workshop. They're here in SF, but they work with people from all over. We actually work in the same building, and I'm happy to make an intro: http://www.rightsworkshop.com/. Good luck!
