I clipped this, too, for future Workshops. The point about recognizing that audiences are a part of docs -- as they are for features -- is important, although I'm not sure I agree with everything in the article.
Wish the NYT paid more attention to docs on television generally. I think they're too often dismissive of anything not on the big screen, which is just wrong.
