What this network needs
Still figuring out what we can do at Producers Workshop Online, if we have the right functions, what else is possible with ning, how to order the info, etc. Yr thoughts?

Ning has announced that the new customization features will be available on July 20th. However, we still don't know entirely what those customization features will entail. In the meantime, once the payment plan is set up, I can work with PBS to set up the URL for the site and we can customize (hopefully remove completely) the advertising.

I'm not sure, but Kal will know. He's our network creator (sounds like God, right?). As I understand it, Ning is doing some re-orgs now, adding and deleting functions, so fingers crossed. Thx! J

About a month ago, Michael Ballard added a video embed from PBS's COVE system and discovered that Ning, the platform for Workshop Online, didn't allow him to pick a thumbnail; instead it used a dull generic icon. Ick. We've been looking into it with the Ning help line and they agree Ning should support the PBS standard API (oEmbed). Our help person is putting in a request to add this feature, and we'll let you know if/when it's up.

So -- is there anything else you've noticed that we might ask for, while we're pestering Ning???
