The PBS series, American Experience, will premiere my new film, TRIANGLE FIRE, this coming Monday, February 28, 2011 at 9:00pm (check your local listings). On March 25, 1911, 146 garment workers died in a fire at the Triangle Waist Company. It was one of the largest workplace accidents in the nation’s history and few could deny that in the catastrophe lay a harsh truth: private industry had manufactured an industrial nightmare. From the ashes of the Triangle Waist Company arose the most sweeping and aggressive workplace reform laws in the nation and a powerful new conception of American government as an institution with a duty to guard the safety and dignity of its citizens.
I hope you can tune-in!
I know we're all looking forward to Stanley Nelson's FREEDOM RIDERS on American Experience next month, especially those of you who met Stanley at Workshop or just admire his work. Here's another connection, too: One of the students taking part in the 2011 Student Freedm Ride, Marshall Houston of Alabama, credits his Documenting Justice professor, Andrew Grace, for pointing out the opportunity. Tx, Andy!

News from Robin Hessman --
Dear Friends of My Perestroika,
We hope you are having a great June!
We are really proud to announce that My Perestroika has been selected for the Economist Film Project which means that the film is going to be featured on the PBS NewsHour on Thursday, June 23rd! Last week, we recorded English voice-overs for our NewsHour segment. (Since they simultaneously broadcast on the radio, the subtitles wouldn't do.) Robin was a frighteningly convincing Pioneer leader.
In other news, we will be opening at The Music Box Theatre in Chicago on June 17th and later at The Wilmette Theatre on June 24th. Please help up spread the word to all your Chicago friends!
Don't forget that right now My Perestroika is still playing in San Francisco, West Newton, MA, Boca Raton, FL, Concord, NH, San Jose, CA, and Portland, OR.
Soon we will have screenings in Utica, NY, Ogden and Salt Lake City, UT (with Skype Q & A with Robin) and The Music Hall in Portsmouth, NH on June 19 & June 21st. Internationally we have upcoming screenings in Barcelona and Slovakia.
Again, all info is on the screenings page of our website. http://myperestroika.com/screenings/
It makes a big difference every time each of you tells a friend about My Perestroika. We couldn't do it without you. Thank you so much!
Great review for My Perestroika in the WSJ:

A note from Loren Mendell, one of those (few) delinquent Workshop grads without a page on our site. OK, Loren, I'll put this up this time, but get on board!!
