URBAN INDIANS in production

We have 3 alumni from the Producers Academy working on the URBAN INDIANS documentary: Larry Pourier, Charles 'Boots' Kennedye and Lisa D. Olken. It's quite incredible that we all found one another and that we all have very fond memories of our time with Judith in Boston. …

Down a New Road with a New Film

I've officially departed from WNED and am now working as an independent.  I had some great opportunities at WNED to produce some memorable films but I have a couple of my own projects in development that will keep me busy.  One that we expect to start filming in the spring is about a singer/songwriter who rose from the Greenwich Village folk scene with the likes of Bob Dylan, Judy Collins, Phil Ochs and others.  He's still out there plugging away so it should be a powerful film about a… Continue

Thanks and Good Luck!

To fellow producers, whether at a station or independent ...

Unless some political miracle occurs, NJN Public Television ends forty years of local original production this Thursday and over a hundred people lose their jobs and say goodbye to what was an anomaly of a PBS station, but a good one if you wanted to do local production.  WNET is slated to start a NJ-based subsidiary group that will operate the new station, but no one at NJN knows yet whether they will be a part of…

Triangle Fire Broadcasts This Monday Night!

The PBS series, American Experience, will premiere my new film, TRIANGLE FIRE, this coming Monday, February 28, 2011 at 9:00pm (check your local listings).  On March 25, 1911, 146 garment workers died in a fire at the Triangle Waist Company. It was one of the largest workplace accidents in the nation’s history and few could deny that in the catastrophe lay a harsh truth: private industry had manufactured an industrial nightmare.  From the ashes of the Triangle Waist Company arose the most… Continue
