Exciting news! PBS has selected our series, America's Black Metropolis (ABM), for additional review for funding from the Diversity Innovation Fund. More than 200 programs were submitted; only 16 remain.
Now, I need your help. PBS will be using public comment to help determine which project(s) recieve funding. Your note of support can help make all the difference for ABM. DIFundSubmission@pbs.org
Just as my last doc, DuSable to Obama: Chicago's Black Metropolis, unveiled the tremendous contributions of African Americans in building that great city, ABM will tell the Black community’s stories in 10 great American cities. With so much misunderstanding and polarization dividing the nation, we believe it is more important than ever to accurately portray this slice of history.
America's Black Metropolis offers each featured city an opportunity to tell its story through the use of the oral tradition of griots, illustrations, photographs/archival film, re-enactments and music. The soul and energy of each metropolis will be shaped by the collective memory of the African-American community who helped build it.
We're asking everyone to offer support for America's Black Metropolis. Please send a message to PBS.

All the best,
