Thanks for the welcome, Judith! I've been doing a lot of kid raising and very little filmmaking in the past few years, but I'm trying to get back in the loop. I just finished a web-based video project that I'd love to get the Producers Workshop community's advice on. Specifically, I'm trying to drum up web traffic, and ideally find a broadcast partner. I'll post some videos and the link to the site. Hope you are well!
Will do Judith. We've just been a bit focused on the theatrical release and waiting to promote AfroPoP closer to the broadcast date a few months from now. And since this is a DIY punk rock effort, reaching out to press, keeping up with Facebook, Twitter, and our own website has got us all tied up in knots at time. But love the tool here, so we'll work to incorporate it a bit more. Thanks for the support and suggestion! Chris

Thoughts on the death of Mme Nhu, whom I interviewed in 1982 for "Vietnam: A Television History"-
I remember the day vividly. Mme Nhu lived way outside of Rome, in a huge old house, hard to find, isolated. We drove through a rusting but ornate metal gate, up a long drive, and were finally admitted - but only to the greenhouse attached to the house, not into the house itself. We were told, with no explanation, that this was where we could film. The room was dim, and it was hard to get the lighting right. But the sound problem was worse -- it was a cold, wet day, and the rain hitting the greenhouse roof made it sound, for a while, as if we were under a waterfall.
We finally got set and she came in, dressed in her trademark ao dai dress, cut tight and low, with a glittering cross around her neck. She was tiny, delicate, and completely in control. She wanted to lecture us, not to be interviewed. It took a lot of discussion to persuade her, but finally, just as I was starting my questions, she got up and left. Again, no one explained, so we just waited. After a while Mme Nhu returned, wrapped in a beautiful mink stole against the cold. And the interview began.

Sadly, this Doc was so focused on the science it didn't cause too much of a ruckus. You can't really argue with science, but it is getting some attention. We received plenty of viewer feedback, it got a short write up by a science blogger for the Guardian and since it went online about a month ago, it's had about 32,000 hits. I am working with NewsHour to cut a ten minute version for them and we are in the process of individually contacting PBS stations in states with Medical Marijuana laws to offer it to them for free. So far I've only contacted Western Region states and KCSM in California is planning to air it and others are still watching it online to decide if it is national enough to fit their air. I'll keep you posted! Hope things are good. Are you working on a new program? Sure do love this site!!
A while after Producers Workshop, I finally finished and released "Indoctrinate U". It premiered at the Kennedy Center to a packed house and a standing ovation. It's been carried on some public broadcasting affiliates who carry portions of the Documentary Channel programming, where it's aired a number of times and is also among their best selling DVDs of all time.
Since the film, I've been paying the bills working in the software business. I was at Reuters for several years and built their iPhone and iPad apps called News Pro. Last summer, I joined an online retailer called Gilt Groupe where I am also working on building iPhone and iPad apps.
On the side, I've also been working on a documentary project covering a controversial new media figure. I'd be happy to tell more, but since any info would have to be off-the-record, do you know whether comments on here are visible to the public, or only to you and former PW participants who are logged in?
"Indoctrinate U" has also been in the news in Canada recently for a rather shocking reason. A student at McGill University became so enraged during a screening that he started tweeting death fantasies against other audience members. Global Toronto TV covered it, and posted the video online:

Also, Paul Taylor is in Tuscaloosa today to show the film, so I might pass on another hello too! Thank you, Judith, actually I know them well, Kate and Alice are great and two of my docs are playing there and two of the survivors will be attending! Sold In America tomorrow Friday and Sands Of Silence WIP on Sunday. I was invited to the Q&A but unfortunately it coincided with my father receiving today the country's Social Volunteer Work Award from the Crown Prince of Spain and I am in Spain now :)
