Any film profs or teachers out there? I'm a full-time prof at Chapman University in Orange County, trying to dig out some new material as the fall semester unfolds before us. Any recommendations on new works that are must-sees?

Met with Andy Grace last week here in LA. Andy's an alum from 2009, like myself. We hammered out a nice long list of films to add. If anyone has others, or would even be willing to trade syllabi - I'd love that.

Other Chapman news: proposing a new program in documentary film, an MFA. Stay tuned for that. Could be a nice landing ground for folks who want a more Hollywood experience than the Stanford or Berkeley programs.

Sally, my preferred this year:
I actually planned to contact you to incorporate Deep Down in my Media and Community Engagement class with University of South Carolina Media Arts majors. I think your project is a great example for how to create and use media for outreach and engagement.

I'm an adjunct with one evening class. I work full time at South Carolina ETV. I didn't know you were a workshopper??!!!

Hi Amy - Great to hear from you. And yes, a workshopper indeed!! Was there last year (not this past year, the year before that) with Deep Down, which was then at assembly phase. What film did you go with?

And yes- would love to have DD used in your class. Wonderful. Do you want jen and or I to be skyped in and "speak" digitally to the class?!

Hi Sally:
have you seen 180° SOUTH? I recently watched it at a film festival and really liked it. It may be old news to you, but I thought I'd throw it out there.
No, I haven't seen, but will add it to the list. Thanks!
